It is about time, well for my mental health anyway, that we send out the first single to Speak Your Mind. Wiser Man was recorded in my own studio where I had the leisure and luxury of producing with time on my hands. Great set-up that made for pretty cool ideas, one of them made its way to Wiser Man: all the percs come from my recycling bin! With JF Lemieux, we played with cookie wrappers, crunched pop cans, used the bin as a bass drum to get some organic feel into an album that, among other things, speaks of the human kind and the effect it may have on this planet. Greed will make us extinct and I can’t help but reflect upon it.
Montreal native Ian Kelly is pleased to present “Wiser Man”. This track is a first glimpse at his second album, “Speak Your Mind”, to be released in Canadian stores on September 2nd. Poetic, introspective and catchy, “Wiser Man” is all that and more. It echoes a musical universe where organic and electro meet to form a modern folk sound.
Singer, songwriter Ian Kelly, also recorded the album with his co-producer Guillaume Chartrain.
